Where is Comanche County? |
Comanche County is located in Oklahoma, and was originally part of the Kiowa, Comanche, and Apache reservation. It was opened for homesteading by lottery in 1901. Comanche County includes Lawton, the Great Plains Museum and Fort Sill, now the headquarters for the U.S. Army Field Artillery Center, which covers 95,000 acres, and contains about 50 historic sites, including the grave of Quanah Parker.
